This work is part of a series of sculptures on this theme, Les Parisiennes, the first of which, around one meter high, was presented in 1958 in the Salon des Peintres de notre temps, the theme of which was Parisiennes. This series of representations of Parisiennes by Volti culminated in 1992 with the creation of a stone sculpture of this model, in Garges-lès-Gonesse, which unfortunately has disappeared today. The model that we present for sale today is part of this series of Parisiennes and the cast number corresponds to the numbering of the sculpture which was exhibited in five state museums in China, from 2014 to 2015. It had, moreover, was chosen to serve as an illustration for one of the posters of these exhibitions.
