This work is part of a series of sculptures on this theme, Les Parisiennes, the first of which, about a meter high, was presented in 1958 in the Salon des Peintres de leur temps, whose theme was Parisiennes. This series of representations of Parisiennes by Volti culminated in 1992 with the creation of a stone sculpture of this model in Garges-lès-Gonesse, which is, unfortunately, now lost.
