Old gouache depicting a skater at the Van Schelle ice rink on Rue de la Glacière in Saint-Gilles, a commune in Brussels. The original Van Schelle swimming pool was converted into an ice rink in 1924 and was very popular with the local bourgeoisie until 1938.
